Overview
The CHSP credential was established to focus on the importance of using management principles to improve the safety performance of healthcare organizations. This program offers attendees an educational program intended to aid CHSP candidates in their preparation for the exam.
The first day of the preparation workshop will review healthcare hazard control, accident prevention, leadership & management as well as fire safety, infection control, and various other topics to prepare attendees for the exam on day two. Classroom materials for study prior to the event will be provided in PDF format to all registered attendees.
The prep class and exam will be presented and proctored by Jim Tweedy, Executive Director of International Board of Certification of Safety Managers (IBCSM). The exam content and sample exam questions can be found here. All candidates must attend the full day of class on August 23rd in order to sit for the test on August 24th. We will dismiss at noon on the second day. Lunch on the first day is included in the registration fee.
In addition to registering for the event with LHA Trust Funds, all candidates must also complete an online application including two professional references. The Board of Certified Hazard Control Management (BCHCM) will process the online application after which time, each applicant will receive a PDF study guide via email. This online application is REQUIRED (not optional). We suggest you complete the application and register for the event simultaneously. Delayed applications for BCHCM will result in delayed delivery of the PDF study guide.
