Overview

In today’s society, aggressive behavior and violence identification training is imperative for healthcare organizations and their staff. Healthcare practitioners can face upset, angry, aggressive, mentally ill, or violent patients, family members or visitors on any given day. Having the right tools in place to identify and address early signs of aggression and violent tendencies can help diffuse situations from escalating. Learning, understanding, implementing and hardwiring principles and techniques are proactive approaches healthcare organizations can take to promote a safe environment for patients, staff, physicians, and visitors. LHA Trust Funds has multiple resources available in the area of aggressive or violent behavior identification training, handling behavioral health patients, and handling workplace violence situations. Toolkits focusing on violence prevention, active shooter response & preparedness, and behavioral health offer a wide variety of tools for healthcare organizations.

In addition to the toolkits, LHA Trust Funds offers an annual Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) initial instructor–level training course and instructor recertification course. In addition to offering certification to new participants, the class will provide recertification of MOAB Instructor-Trainer status expiring this year. Recertification requires a 1-day refresher course and exam that will be offered on May 5, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
